JACQUES FATH Sketches of dresses and ensembles, 1949–52. 8 original, period pen-and-ink drawings, some highlighted in color, on four loose sheets (one full-page drawing), with the house’s stamp on the back of each sheet. 26 x 20.5 cm to 29.5 x 20.3 cm. One sheet shows signs of handling, including one with a cut corner. Note: A leading figure in postwar haute couture, Jacques Fath established a bold and resolutely feminine style. These eight original drawings, bearing the house stamp, offer a valuable insight into the couturier’s creative process, ranging from initial sketches to line drawings and color studies.
