THE QUAYS OF THE SEINE IN PARIS… - Lot 327
THE QUAYS OF THE SEINE IN PARIS… Three evocative titles: “Quai de Grenelle” by E-E. Reinert (1950), starring F. Arnoul, H. Vidal… ; “Midnight… Quai de Bercy” by S. Stengel (1953), starring M. Robinson, E. von Stroheim… and “Quai Notre-Dame” by J. Berthier (1961), starring Anouk Aimée 3 vintage Belgian theatrical posters, printed by Lithocarty, M. Panneels & Edicolor—Brussels. 49 x 35 cm to 38 x 56 cm. Posters are folded; signs of wear on one poster (thumbtack holes in the corners, small tears at the edges, a few stains and foxing spots). Note: Three Parisian quays, three cinematic atmospheres: Grenelle, Bercy, and Notre Dame become the settings here for popular stories—whether detective thrillers or dramas. These three Belgian posters from the 1950s and 1960s form a beautiful collection centered on a cinematic Paris that has largely disappeared today.
