Roger COMTE (1913–2006) - Lot 327
Roger COMTE (1913–2006) Rural Scene Oil on panel Signed lower right 59 x 70 cm Note: Roger Comte (1913–2006) developed a figurative style of painting that was decidedly poetic, drawing on genre scenes and an imagination steeped in fantasy. In this *Rural Scene*, an elegantly dressed couple stands out against a lively backdrop of horsemen and sketched figures, evoking a reimagined courtly festival. The loose brushwork and warm, golden tones lend the work a theatrical and dreamlike atmosphere.
