Jean MIOTTE (1926–2016) - Lot 340
Jean MIOTTE (1926–2016) Composition, circa 1990 Painting on canvas Signed lower right 100 x 81 cm Note: A leading figure in lyrical abstraction, Jean Miotte (1926–2016) developed a style of painting based on spontaneous brushwork, movement, and color. In this Composition, created around 1990, broad strokes of blue, red, yellow, and black spread across the canvas in a play of tensions and contrasts, fully revealing the energy of the painterly gesture—a hallmark of the artist’s work.
