LE PROCES PARADINE - THE PARADINE CASE - HITCHCOCK - Lot 8
LE PROCES PARADINE - THE PARADINE CASE - HITCHCOCK Ann Todd, Gregory Peck, film by Alfred Hitchcock, 1947. 3 photos, later silver prints (film re-released 1956), credits below images, annotated on backs. 20.4 x 25.8 cm each. Note: Set of three promotional photographs from Alfred Hitchcock's 1947 film The Paradine Case, starring Gregory Peck and Ann Todd. This courtroom drama, adapted from the novel by Robert Smythe Hichens, is one of the filmmaker's darkest and most sophisticated works. These later silver prints, released when the film was re-released in 1956, illustrate several emblematic scenes that combine the psychological tension, visual elegance and atmosphere of mystery characteristic of Hitchcock cinema. The credits printed beneath the images and the annotations on the spine recall their function as promotional material for the press and the film's release. An interesting set for collectors of classic Hollywood cinema and photographs related to the world of Alfred Hitchcock.
