Note: Portrait of Raoul Walsh taken in the 1970s. A major figure in the history of American cinema, Raoul Walsh made over a hundred films between the silent era and the 1960s, spanning all the major Hollywood genres: western, war film, adventure, gangster and film noir. He worked with the major American studios, directing Errol Flynn, Humphrey Bogart, James Cagney, Gary Cooper and Clark Gable.
