HENRI CHOPIN - Lot 58
HENRI CHOPIN *J'attends l'homme !...* 1969. Original lithograph (typography) on thick paper with slightly frayed edges, numbered 1/36 and signed by the artist in pencil. 35.5 x 52 cm. Note: Created in 1969, *I’m Waiting for the Man!...* illustrates Henri Chopin’s exploration of the relationships between language, typography, and visual creation. A leading figure in sound and experimental poetry, the artist constantly sought to push the boundaries of traditional writing by exploring the materiality of signs, sounds, and words. This work, conceived as a self-contained typographic composition, reflects his interest in forms of expression at the intersection of poetry, graphic art, and performance. Numbered, signed, and printed in a limited edition of only 36 copies, it stands as a remarkable example of the visual experiments that accompanied the renewal of artistic and literary practices in the late 1960s.
