The dark and diffuse collection of moving images conveys a sense of the atmosphere, pain, and sensitivity of the rituals. […] Cindy Jansen is a graduate of the Academy of Visual Arts in Arnhem, the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, and the international screenwriting and director development program at the Binger Filmlab in Amsterdam. Jansen has screened her films at several national and international film festivals, including Hamburg and Rotterdam. Her videos and photographs have been featured in numerous group and solo exhibitions, such as Loop 05 Barcelona, the Noorderlicht Photofestival in Groningen, and the Gerhard Hofland Gallery in Amsterdam. Starting in 2005, Jansen participated in the international screenplay and director development program at the Binger Filmlab in Amsterdam. With the film screenplay *Floating, Fingergame, Sandman*, she participated in Cinemart 2008, the professional production market of the International Film Festival Rotterdam, and the Cannes Film Market. She was selected for the Berlinale Talent Campus that same year and began building an international network that led to a successful collaboration with Addie Reiss, the director of photography for Jansen’s short film *Come Spring*. Jansen’s latest film, *Auld Lang Syne*, premiered at the Rotterdam International Film Festival in 2015.
