JEAN-LUC GODARD - Lot 23
JEAN-LUC GODARD
Portrait in front of the poster for his film *A bout de souffle* by Clément Hurel (note the spelling error in the director’s name on the poster: a “T” instead of a “D”), 1960s.
Photo by Philippe R. Doumic, vintage silver gelatin print, stamped (by the photographer and Unifrance) and annotated on the back.
23.8 x 18.2 cm.
Condition: some signs of handling visible only when held up to the light.
Note: Jean-Luc Godard poses in front of the poster for *À bout de souffle* designed by Clément Hurel, featuring the famous typo in his name. An ironic portrait of the filmmaker in front of the film that launched the French New Wave, as well as a curiosity for poster collectors.
