HAROLD LLOYD - Lot 29
HAROLD LLOYD
Climbing a building and fear of heights… during the filming of Clyde Bruckman’s movie *Feet First* (Up to the Task!), 1930.
Photograph, silver print mounted on cardboard, unmarked on the back.
17.8 x 23.2 cm.
Note: Photograph depicting Harold Lloyd in a spectacular scene of climbing and vertigo at heights during the filming of *Feet First* (À la hauteur !), a film directed by Clyde Bruckman and released in 1930. A major figure in American slapstick cinema alongside Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd remains famous for his acrobatic scenes performed at great heights, which have become iconic in silent film and early sound film. *Feet First* continued the success of his urban suspense comedies, in which the actor portrayed his character facing spectacularly perilous situations. On-set photographs related to Harold Lloyd’s stunts are particularly sought after by collectors of silent films and classic American comedy.
