Note: Photograph of George A. Romero during the filming of Martin, made in 1977. A major figure in American independent horror cinema, George A. Romero revolutionized the genre with Night of the Living Dead in 1968, before becoming one of the masters of fantasy and zombie films. Martin, a darkly atypical blend of psychological horror and social chronicle, is today considered one of his most personal films, and one of the most appreciated by fans of fantasy cinema. Of particular interest to collectors of American horror films and independent productions of the 1970s are the period stills with production stamps and original annotations.
