BRIGITTE BARDOT AND ROGER VADIM - Lot 258
BRIGITTE BARDOT AND ROGER VADIM
With Jacques Chazot and Léon Zitrone, respectively, during the filming of the movie "Don Juan 73," 1972.
2 photos, vintage silver gelatin prints, stamped (with dates) and annotated on the backs.
20 x 30 cm each.
Note: This set of two photographs taken in 1972 shows Brigitte Bardot and Roger Vadim alongside Jacques Chazot and Léon Zitrone during the filming of *Don Juan 73*. Directed by Roger Vadim, this film offers a contemporary reinterpretation of the Don Juan myth, transposed into the context of early 1970s society. Brigitte Bardot, then at the height of her international fame, plays one of her last major roles in the film before gradually retiring from the cinema. Roger Vadim, a filmmaker associated with the sexual revolution and the emergence of new female characters on screen, had maintained a special bond with Bardot since the success of *And God… Created Woman* in 1956. The presence of Jacques Chazot, a society columnist and dancer, as well as journalist and TV host Léon Zitrone, reinforces the media-driven nature of these images. These vintage prints thus offer fascinating behind-the-scenes glimpses of a production that brought together several iconic figures of French cultural life.
