An iconic work of American independent cinema, this ensemble film set in Memphis pays homage to the world of rock ’n’ roll, the blues, and the legacy of Elvis Presley. Former frontman of the band The Clash, Joe Strummer appears here in one of his most memorable film appearances. Taken by Japanese photographer Sukita, renowned for his portraits of major musicians and artists of the 20th century, these vintage color photographs capture the film’s unique aesthetic and the alternative music scene of the late 1980s.
