FRANCOIS JOUSSELIN - Lot 337
FRANCOIS JOUSSELIN
The painter seated in front of one of his paintings, 1960s. Photograph, vintage silver print, stamped and annotated on the back. 11.5 x 11.5 cm.
Note: This photograph from the 1960s shows François Jousselin seated in front of one of his paintings, offering a direct glimpse of the artist in his creative environment. An active painter on the postwar French art scene, Jousselin developed a personal body of work characterized by a constant focus on color, composition, and painterly texture. Portraits of artists in their studios or in front of their works are particularly sought-after documents for understanding their artistic approach and visual world. This vintage print thus allows us to associate the painter’s face with his artistic output, while illustrating the vitality of French art during the postwar decades.
