AMADEO MODIGLIANI
Reclining Nudes… 1910s. 3 photographs, silver gelatin prints on vintage card stock (1950s), annotated (with numbers) on the backs.
14.5 x 22.6 cm to 18 x 28.3 cm, including white borders.
Note: This set of three photographs reproduces Amedeo Modigliani’s Reclining Nudes, created in the 1910s and among the artist’s most famous works. An iconic figure of the School of Paris, Modigliani developed an instantly recognizable style characterized by elongated forms, elegant lines, and a profound pursuit of expressive simplicity. His nudes, painted between 1916 and 1919, are now considered masterpieces of modern painting and rank among the most sought-after works of the 20th century. Produced in the 1950s, these photographic prints bear witness to the dissemination and reception of his work among the public and art lovers several decades after his untimely death in 1920. They constitute an interesting documentary collection dedicated to one of the most influential artists of Parisian modernism.
