URSULA ANDRESS AND JEAN-PAUL BELMONDO - Lot 3
URSULA ANDRESS AND JEAN-PAUL BELMONDO Stepping out of the bath… during the filming of Philippe de Broca’s movie “The Trials and Tribulations of a Chinese Man in China,” 1965. 19.6 x 25 cm. Signs of handling (some visible only when held up to the light), particularly at one corner tip. Note: Directed by Philippe de Broca in 1965, *The Tribulations of a Chinese Man in China* is an adventure comedy loosely based on the novel by Jules Verne. Jean-Paul Belmondo plays Arthur Lempereur, a disillusioned young billionaire who rediscovers his zest for life when he meets Alexandrine, an ethnologist played by Ursula Andress. Filmed primarily in Hong Kong, Nepal, and Malaysia, the film draws on Belmondo’s energy and stunts, complemented by the elegance and sensuality of the actress who had made her breakthrough three years earlier in *Dr. No*. This photograph, taken during filming, captures the chemistry between the star couple of this hugely popular 1960s adventure. Cinémathèque
