YUL BRYNNER AND HIS STUNT DOUBLE - Lot 9
YUL BRYNNER AND HIS STUNT DOUBLE For the stunts performed in Gianfranco Parolini's Spaghetti Western "Indio Black" (Adios, Sabata), 1970. Photo, vintage silver print, stamped and annotated on the back. 29.8 x 20.4 cm. Some dust in the print and signs of handling. Note: Directed by Gianfranco Parolini in 1970, *Indio Black*—distributed internationally under the title *Adiós, Sabata*—is the second installment in the trilogy dedicated to the famous gunslinger. In this film, Yul Brynner exceptionally takes over from Lee Van Cleef in the lead role. Dressed in black and armed with a rifle featuring ingenious mechanisms, he plays an adventurer fighting alongside Mexican revolutionaries to recover a shipment of gold hijacked by the Austrian army. This still from the set shows Yul Brynner and his stunt double, dressed identically to ensure continuity of the character during stunts and action scenes. It serves as a testament to the techniques used on the set of this Italian Western, which has become iconic within the genre.
