TIPPI HEDREN AND SEAN CONNERY - Lot 79
TIPPI HEDREN AND SEAN CONNERY During the filming of Alfred Hitchcock’s movie “Marnie” (No Spring for Marnie), 1964. Photograph, vintage silver print, credits below the image, blank back. 25.7 x 20.4 cm including borders. Note: In *Marnie* (No Spring for Marnie), filmed in 1963 and released in 1964, Tippi Hedren and Sean Connery play Marnie Edgar and Mark Rutland. Marnie is a young kleptomaniac who regularly changes her identity after stealing from her employers. Mark, a wealthy businessman who discovers her actions, forces her to marry him and attempts to uncover the source of her phobias and trauma. Adapted from the novel by Winston Graham, this psychological thriller shifts focus away from the criminal investigation to explore guilt, desire, and repressed memory. Following *The Birds*, this is the second and final collaboration between Hitchcock and Tippi Hedren. Sean Connery, already famous for his role as James Bond, portrays a more ambiguous and unsettling character here.
