NATHALIE WOOD AND TONY CURTIS - Lot 96
NATHALIE WOOD AND TONY CURTIS During the filming of Richard Quine's movie "Sex and the Single Girl," 1964. 2 photos (photomontages), vintage silver gelatin prints, credits below the images, blank backs. 25.7 x 20.3 each, including edges. Note: In *Sex and the Single Girl* (Une vierge sur canapé), a comedy directed by Richard Quine and released in 1964, Natalie Wood plays psychologist Helen Gurley Brown, author of a best-selling book about the love lives of single women. Tony Curtis plays Bob Weston, the editor-in-chief of a tabloid newspaper who seeks to obtain revelations about her. After being rebuffed, he assumes a false identity and becomes her patient, before their relationship—based on deception—evolves into a romantic entanglement. Loosely based on the book published by Helen Gurley Brown in 1962, the film adapts its subject matter into a comedy of manners that foreshadows the social and sexual changes of the 1960s.
