BERNADETTE LAFFONT AND FRANÇOIS TRUFFAUT - Lot 200
BERNADETTE LAFFONT AND FRANÇOIS TRUFFAUT During the filming of the movie "Une belle fille comme moi," 1972. Photograph, original silver print from the period, stamped (including the production stamp) and annotated on the back. 18 x 12.5 cm. Note: Bernadette Lafont reunited with François Truffaut fifteen years after *Les Mistons* (1957), the actress’s debut film and the filmmaker’s first fictional short film. Here, she plays Camille Bliss, a young woman in prison whose criminal history is being studied by a sociologist, played by André Dussollier. Captivated by her story and her personality, he sets out to prove her innocence without realizing that he, too, is being manipulated. Adapted by Truffaut and Jean-Loup Dabadie from a novel by Henry Farrell, this black comedy relies on Lafont’s energy, sensuality, and audacity. Her character overturns the power dynamics by using the desires she arouses against the men.
