BERNADETTE LAFFONT AND FRANÇOIS TRUFFAUT - Lot 236
BERNADETTE LAFFONT AND FRANÇOIS TRUFFAUT The actress and the director during the filming of *Une belle fille comme moi*, based on the novel by Henry Farrell, 1972. 2 photos, vintage silver gelatin prints, annotated (with numbers) on the backs. 20 x 25 cm each. Note: Bernadette Lafont made her film debut in 1957 in *Les Mistons*, François Truffaut’s first short film. Fifteen years later, the director cast her in the lead role of *Une belle fille comme moi*. In it, she plays Camille Bliss, a prisoner accused of murder who recounts her turbulent life to Stanislas Prévine, a young sociologist portrayed by André Dussollier. Charmed by her, he sets out to prove her innocence without realizing just how skilled she is at manipulating men. Adapted from a novel by Henry Farrell and with dialogue by Jean-Loup Dabadie, this dark and amoral comedy allows Lafont to display a provocative energy that is emblematic of her career.
