ANNA KARINA AND HENRI-JACQUES HUET A New Wave Kiss, during the filming of Jean-Luc Godard’s movie “Le Petit soldat,” 1960. Photo by Alain Cerf, vintage silver gelatin print on card stock, stamped by the photographer and annotated on the back. 20.4 x 30 cm. Note: A kiss on set between Anna Karina and Henri-Jacques Huet during the filming of Jean-Luc Godard’s *Le Petit soldat* in 1960. In this political drama set in Geneva against the backdrop of the Algerian War, Anna Karina plays Veronica Dreyer, while Henri-Jacques Huet plays Jacques, a member of the small group to which Bruno Forestier—the main character played by Michel Subor—belongs. Godard’s second feature film, *Le Petit Soldat*, is notable above all for marking his first collaboration with Anna Karina, who would go on to become the iconic actress of his films. Banned by French censors due to its portrayal of the Algerian War and torture, the film was not released in theaters until 1963.
