ANNA KARINA AND CLAUDE BRASSEUR - Lot 22
ANNA KARINA AND CLAUDE BRASSEUR
Reading the newspaper "L'Equipe" during the filming of Jean-Luc Godard's movie "Bande à part," 1964.
Photograph, vintage silver print, annotated on the back.
18.5 x 25.7 cm, including white borders.
Note: Anna Karina plays Odile, a naive young woman who reveals to Franz, played by Sami Frey, the existence of a large sum of money hidden in the house where she lives. Franz tells his friend Arthur, played by Claude Brasseur, who seduces Odile and draws her into their plan to rob the house. Freely adapted from the crime novel *Fool’s Gold* by Dolores Hitchens, the film transforms this criminal plot into a poetic chronicle of youth, boredom, and the desire for adventure. The trio of Karina, Brasseur, and Frey is at the heart of several now-famous scenes, notably their “Madison” dance in a café and their dash through the Louvre Museum.
