PIER PAOLO PÄSOLINI AND PIERRE CLEMENTI - Lot 93
PIER PAOLO PÄSOLINI AND PIERRE CLEMENTI During the filming of the movie "Porcile" (Pigsty), 1969. Photograph, vintage silver print, annotated on the back. 18 x 23.5 cm, including the margin. A few signs of handling visible only when held up to the light. Note: Pier Paolo Pasolini directs Pierre Clémenti in one of the two parallel narratives of *Porcile*. The actor plays an unnamed young man who wanders through a volcanic landscape, on the fringes of society, before joining a group of cannibals. Almost devoid of dialogue, this archaic segment complements a contemporary plot featuring, notably, Jean-Pierre Léaud and Anne Wiazemsky. Through this radical approach, Pasolini constructs a political allegory about fascism, consumer society, and extreme forms of rebellion against a corrupt world. A Franco-Italian co-production, *Porcile* remains one of the filmmaker’s most bitter and provocative works.
