Albert PILOT (1922-2002) - Lot 1
Albert PILOT (1922-2002)
The Stone Bridge, homage to Rembrandt
Oil on panel
46 x 54 cm

Note: With The Stone Bridge, Albert Pilot pays a vibrant tribute to Rembrandt's art of chiaroscuro. The scene, bathed in a dramatic light that cuts the landscape into zones of shadow and brilliance, reveals an almost mystical atmosphere. The bridge, boats and silhouettes seem to emerge from a world suspended between reality and inner vision. Pilot's treatment of color and contrast extends the tradition of the Dutch masters while infusing it with a contemporary sensibility, offering a landscape at once solemn, poetic and imbued with profound interiority.
