Miles Davis and his Lamborghini, circa 1972 - Lot 36
Miles Davis and his Lamborghini, circa 1972 Black and white digital print Dimensions: 20.1 x 20.5 cm Note: This photograph shows Miles Davis in an urban setting, sitting on the hood of his Lamborghini, at a time marked by his exploration of electric and experimental forms of jazz. The low-angle framing, centered on the vehicle and the musician's silhouette, gives the image a strong graphic and iconic dimension. Black and white accentuates contrasts and reinforces the sculptural presence of the subject, while the sports car becomes a symbolic element of independence and modernity. The whole is in keeping with the iconography of the 1970s, when Miles Davis emerged as an innovative and assertive artistic figure.
