Revealed at an early age by the international success of her novel Bonjour tristesse, published in 1954, Françoise Sagan quickly became one of the most talked-about figures in French literature. Her personal life, often commented on by the press, regularly brought her to the attention of the media, who followed her literary career as well as her relations with the world of theater and cinema. Robert Hossein, an important figure on the French stage and a popular film actor in the 1950s-1960s, belonged to the same Parisian artistic milieu. These photographs illustrate the high media profile of writers and entertainment personalities in the illustrated press of the period.
