ALAIN DELON - Lot 174
ALAIN DELON As an abbot and on a moped...during the shooting of Jacques Deray's film "Doucement les basses" in Brittany, 1970. 2 photos (one by Jean-Pierre Bonnotte), vintage silver prints, stamped (including photographer) and annotated on backs. 18 x 24 cm. Traces of handling at corner tips. Note: Set of two photographs showing Alain Delon as an abbot riding a moped during the filming of Doucement les basses, a 1971 film directed by Jacques Deray and shot in Brittany. This atypical comedy occupies a singular place in the filmography of Alain Delon, more associated with the detective and dramatic roles that have made his international reputation. Jacques Deray, director of La Piscine and Borsalino, finds the actor in a lighter, more offbeat register. One of the photographs is by Jean-Pierre Bonnotte, a photographer active in French cinema from 1960-1970. Shooting prints bearing diffusion stamps and annotations are of particular interest to collectors devoted to Alain Delon and the popular French cinema of this period. Note :
